The bible is progressive revelation. In the old testament we find many symbols and examples, but as you come into the new testament you find the full revelation of the mystery that was kept hidden in the old testament.

Psalms 62:11 says, '11God has spoken once, Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God.' The psalmist says here that God has spoken once. Jesus is the one word that is spoken all through the scriptures, because the gospel of John 1:1,14 says, '1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… 14And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.'

The psalmist therefore points us to the Lord Jesus Christ through a figure of speech when he says that God has spoken once. He also goes on to say, 'Twice I have heard this,' inferring that God has spoken to us through two covenants - the old and the new.

As we study the word of God the truth is revealed to us by the Holy Spirit as we endeavor to rightly divide the scriptures. It is important that we have a correct understanding of the word as we interpret the scriptures, so that we are not taken up by false doctrine and false teaching which have led many people astray.

In this book, you will find 12 bible lessons that discuss different passages from the bible. These lessons aim to guide the reader into a deeper understanding of biblical truths that can be seen from scriptures we commonly refer to.

My prayer is that as you read this book, God will give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation, and increase your spiritual understanding of His word.
